I consider myself called to post on a subject when I’ve had more than a few opportunities to discuss it in a short period of time.
Collective energy and all that.
So in this year of nine and the snake, where we collectively shed old skin, let’s take a dive into what it looks like to let things go.
A tremendous chunk of the work this year, is to surrender at the deepest level of our soul.
Trust, traveling soul deep is rarely chosen.
This is why enlightenment (for lack of a better word) happens so often after profound and altering loss. This is also why the concept of Dark Night Of The Soul is known amongst the spiritual. Because it’s, commonly, through the break that the spiritual path stretches before us. It’s this path, through our darkness, that is the shedding of old skin.
It’s the holes, after all, that let the light shine through.
Like the snake sheds skin, in our inner dark, we too shed the circumstances binding us to what we’ve known. This requires a recognition of what no longer serves, the perseverance to face it, and the courage to consciously step into the energy of something new.
The something new, in and of itself, requires faith.
In what, is for one to answer for ones own self.
So whether your new is simply letting go, or a reevaluation of interactions with external circumstances – only we can be the agent of our change.
What we don’t change, we choose, do we not?
What better time than now, in the collective year of release, to take an objective look at what we have to believe (about ourselves) to be where we are right now. In this contemplation step with courage, into your dark. Where we fear ourselves the most is where the deepest layers of change transform our existence.
Only in profound quiet, can we sense the soul’s stirrings.
Still, little is more intimidating than peeking into the corners of our own darkness, where our deepest beliefs are honored by manifesting to what we think we deserve. In the heart of our shadow, we look ourselves in the eye and recognize our circumstances as our own projection to navigate. Here, we understand that:
What we don’t change, we choose.
In shadow we hold our inner child and assure them, that despite the fire in which we were forged, we still stand. We forgive them the ways that they might have grasped at survival, and we gift the child the opportunity to forgive us too.
We are the love that the child sought but didn’t receive. We are the snake we charm from old skin.
It’s in our total surrender that our higher path points us new directions. The primal beat of our highest good forged in our greatest fears.
As we move through this year, embrace the darkness. It is our opportunity to feel the fibers of what scares us the most; then give ourselves permission to follow those strands down. Down to ourselves at our cellular level.
Here, fear reveals the direction of our soul’s evolution. We can only find answers to questions we aren’t afraid to ask.
So question yourself. Vigorously.
And delight in the apprehension of your answers.
Change starts here.
