In this brief moment of coming fully to the self with awareness, let’s make the decision to remember to enjoy this wild ride we call life.
Yes, it’s stressful.
Yes, the world is a whole lotta bananas and often even meaner. But we are still here.
We are not mean.
We needn’t harden beneath the harsh gaze of what the world is right now.
I challenge us to take the next few weeks and instead of being burdened by the state of things, find optimism instead. Is it challenging? Absolutely. That’s why it’s a challenge. But impossible? Never.
We are made of sterner stuff, friends.
Resilience belongs on the shelf, tucked between soul work and peace. It’s where we reach for the next iteration of ourselves and the beginnings of our newest world. Here, in the heart of understanding that we already have what it takes to face what’s ahead, we remember that how we navigate the shadow matters.
And what if the more we face the shadows, the lighter they become? Perhaps not in weight, but in our understanding of our own capabilities. The more we face, the more we learn that we can face. It’s that recognition that ultimately lightens our load. Once we know we can, we can begin to let go of the fear of what if.
We have the ability, audacity even, to meet this moment. To navigate what was, what is and what will be. We have only to believe it. We have only to grant ourselves the deepest permission to be peaceful while we navigate the experience of now.
To maybe even enjoy it.
Here we are at the precipice of a new adventure. We face new challenges, new circumstances, new experiences waiting to have us. The only thing we can reliably control is ourselves.
So, I challenge us in the midst of fear, loss and anxieties to find little joys anyway. See the way the morning sun filters through the trees. Notice the love in your pet’s eyes when they look at you. Watch the wind bless the leaves, then drop them to the ground.
Love yourself well. Love your people well. Be a golden cord amongst the sea of darkness.
The world will continue to spin its madness. But in this moment, we can stop moving and see it swirling around us.
We are our only true allies.
Be a good one.
